Please can anyone recommend a site or program which will identify missing drivers and allow me to download them without opening an account or having to pay a sub?
I've seen a number of supposedly free sites, but most seem to require registration, and some appear to be rather dodgy.
I'm trying to obtain the XP Multimedia Audio Controller drivers for a motherboard that I can't yet identify (I don't have physical access to the PC without a long journey).
Thanks.

Go to Device Manager, select the device in question and use the auto-update mechanism? (Assumes that network access is available).0

It is online, tried that, but it couldn't find anything.
PC is an old Dell desktop case, but the mobo has been changed at some point-I'm trying to avoid having to go back just to ID the mobo using Belarc Advisor or similar..No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
use here http://www.lostintechnology.com/windows/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-windows/
follow the images then put your unknown device details into the PCI DATABASE And it should I.D The device Brand/Model you need
then look for the actual driver you need on google
im sure there will be a free link once you know the actual driver you need0 -

Yes, I can recommend this site too. Don't get carried away though and only install what you need to.0 -
