The Horizon episode on LTCM was really good. I wish the BBC would keep it on iPlayer permanently.

I'm sure the 10% rise in VAT is having an effect. Only time will tell if the effect is positive.

Can't see VAT on food increasing from 13% to 23% (potentially 9% to 23% for many of the islands) being that positive.

I'm sure stuff is happening in Greece but the media have decided we only need to hear about migrants in Calais and Cecil the lion this week.

The lions need culling and it's a good way to raise money for the local people: if they can make money from the wilderness then it will stay wild. The vilification of this man is pretty disgusting.

If game hunting should be illegal then so be it but it's not and so he's done nothing wrong (the actions of his guides notwithstanding).

I thought the lions were being conserved and studied? And in any case, luring a lion away from a park where it is quite used to humans - and then shooting it - is hardly hunting a wild animal or culling a lion that has become a menace!
