Is this an error with my laptop? I have a new Lenovo laptop and Windows 7. Every time I have an update, my laptop turns off and restarts. I then have to go back to what ever I was doing. Can I stop laptop from turning off and the loss of all that I was working on?

in the control panel, under windows update, you can change the way update works*. select the option that warns you so you can chose what and when to do the updates at yr convenience.
PS You'll find it under settings on the left0 -
This doesn't necessarily happen every time, just each time that a Windows update needs to have a restart to work properly. This seems to be less frequent in Windows 7 than in XP, but still far too often for my liking, too!Every time I have an update, my laptop turns off and restarts.
