Found old documentation but can I reclaim?

Hello,
Last Novemebr I finally paid of a loan with Lloyds TSB that I had been pretty much forced to take out with them in 2006 (it was a 'pay what you owe us now' situation).
Anyway, I didn't have PPI with that loan BUT part of the loan was a consolidation of an existing loan from 2004. I didn't even think about PPI at the time because I was on Maternity leave so didn't think it would be much use.
However, whilst looking for some other documents a couple of days ago, I found a statement of the 2004 loan, dated 2009, showing the details from the day of taking that loan out until the day it was closed (January 2006) after the balance had been transferred to the consolidation loan. I just gave it a passing glance as I moved it aside to find the paperwork I needed but then I saw PPI and read it a bit more carefully.
It seems that the 2004 loan had PPI on it and THIS cost was transferred across to the consolidation one. Looking at the statement it clearly says:
"Loan Protection Insurance Loan Advance" and it's nearly £300.
So my question is - Can I still reclaim this PPI, do you think? Technically the 2004 loan only closed 6yrs ago as of 6th Jan, so, in its' own right, I could have a fighting chance I guess but as the amount was transferred to the consolidation loan which ended last year, does it count?
