HP remanufactured cartridge problem

A strange problem with my cartridge and printer
i have a HP f390 all in one printer and i purchased a remanufactured cartridge, placed in it worked fine for a week printing super quality but tonight the printer showed E on the small lcd display, it took me 4 hours of messing around but i have found as soon as i put my old cartridge back in (this in itself was a genuine refilled hp cartridge) the E goes away and everything is fine, i am at lost to say why a cartridge which worked perfectly is suddenly not recognised
I purchased from 7-day shop that have a good reputation- infact the remanufactured cartridge has HP stamped on it
i have taken the new one out and put the old one back a couple of times as the old one has some ink left to print some docs- surely that would not make any difference?

Fail rate in these cheapo cartridges is higher than on originals - most suppliers guarantee them and exchange without a quibble - definately the cartrighe not the printer, or I'll eat my hat.0

As above, some will fail. 7 dayshop are usually pretty good for most returns (never returned ink though) so I don't think you will have a problem in returning it for a replacement.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

i purchased it via their ebay shop, ive sent a message so ill see what they say.
it still seems stange a working cartridge can stop working
bizarre as it sounds, but this error seems to happen when i try to print a scanned document, it also happened last week again trying to print a scanned document- a bit of fiddling around with the cartridges and it worked ok until today.
to be honest its a rubbish printer ive had loads of problems with the HP software too and it will not load.0
