Monitor delivered wrong way up

have just received delivery of a monitor from Amazon.co.uk. I am concerned with how it came packaged and would like your opinion on whether the monitor could have been damaged. It was delivered in a plastic green catalogue type bag with no labelling on the outside to identify what was inside. The delivery driver handed it to me length ways and when I cut the seal of the bag the monitor was stood on its end. There are arrows on the box to say this way up and it was not in this position. Before I unpack the monitor I wanted to check if any damage could have occurred due to the nature of the item.

I wouldnt think there was anything to worry about. There's no way that any manufacturer would be naive enough to think that their packaging was going to stay in an upright position throughout its journey so will have been packed accordingly.0

You won't know until you check it - if it has been damaged you can pack it straight back up and send it back, but if not then there's nothing to worry about!0

The arrows are more to tell them how they should be stacked - these things are stacked 4 or 5 high on a pallet for storage, if they are not stacked the correct way up then the bottom ones get damaged, just one on it's own wont matter which way up it goes.0

Think it will be fine. As the above says the arrows are for safe stacking in the warehouse0

If this text looks upside down, turn the monitor the other way up.DFW Nerd 0350

I wouldn't worry - if you'd seen how it was treated before it got to you you'd probably be horrified! I went to pick up a package from a courier firm last year and while I was there I watched boxes being chucked around like footballs, falling off conveyor belts etc. The packaging of monitors is designed to deal with some of the shocks like this - only way to find out if the packaging works is to plug the monitor in and see.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
