Trying to deal with debt on my own without the aid of Debt Counsellor or DMP

Has anyone else dealt with creditors directly? I have taken advice on my finaces and it has been recommended that I go into a Debt Payment Plan under the Debt Arrangement Scheme( Scotland)and I am toying with the idea. However, the advsior insists that I fling every debt into the pot when my main problem is cash flow over four payday loans. I have made a written offer to each of the lenders and the debts would be cleared, with full payment being made, in 14 months. The Debt Payment Plan would last over 3 years!! Has anybody dealt with payday lenders? If so can you recommend how I proceed?
