Is anyone else having trouble with this company, who administer leasehold flats, but do not own them and certainly do NOT manage them. They are now trying to charge us a fee of about £200 for subletting. The joke is we are not subletting, but if we were I can see no reason why we should pay them money to sublet our own flat.
However, this is not the first demand from them. We get letters every few months demanding money for all sorts of things. They seem to just trawl through their properties every month or so and think of a new reason to screw money from the owners.
I have searched this forum, but cannot find others who have moaned about them.

Check your lease, if the charges aren't in there then they are trying it on.
Once you have checked the lease and confirmed the charges aren't valid, I would write them a letter asking them why they are making demands for money and to prove they have that right quoting which section of the lease they are making the request from. Send the letter recorded delivery.
When they are unable to prove they are due the money, I would write another letter asking them to stop harassing you for money they are not entitled to request.
Make all of your neighbours aware, as some of them may have paid up without questioning.0 -
From Companies House.........

Thanks, that explains it then.
I had checked Companies House for their directors, but did not look at past directors. There should surely be some way they can stop ***&&&*(*(&* like this.0 -
Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know what the relationship is between Estates & Management Ltd and the Tchenguiz empire if he's no longer director? Have been doing some research online but it's not clear to me.
Have just found out Estates & Management Ltd own the freehold of the place I'm trying to buy, and wanting to know if they're still really dodgy...0 -
I get letters from them every year demanding I pay an admin fee for "subletting" my properties. I think they usually want about £150. I file the letters where they belong - in the recycle bin.0
