Wouldnt normally start a new thread when the forum updates is going but dont think the MSE team have made any comments about those users who have eye problems and have expressed concerns over the brightness of the white parts of the pages or the poor quality of the grey sections when you change the setting of the brightness.
The stretchy piece can be fixed but the brightness issue means many users cant look at the pages for long without eye strain or headaches.
Please consider those users new and old who will have to "bounce" not sure if thats exactly the correct word but it seems used alot for people who leave in the forum debate.

Hello eslick,
For those who find the new style a little to bright, we have a 'less' bright version of the new forum style, titled "New masthead, stretchy, less bright and "New masthead, fixed width, less bright".
You can change your styling by changing the template options under UserCP > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options > Forum Skin (here - bottom of the page) which will be applied every time you log into the forums.

Hi Joe
thanks I have done that already, however the grey is a matted effect and also not that clear, on the forum update thread there are quite a few people with the same concerns.0
