Hi all

Had a waterstones voucher for christmas so decided to download some books, however although i can read them on the ereader on my PC once I disconnect the device it comes up as basically copy protected and so I cant read it on the fly

Any idea what I am doing wrong??

Normally I get free books from Guttenberg and have no issues at all

IIRC you need to authorize the reader with the right software, I've got a feeling that for epubs it's normally Adobe Digital Editions.

You might have to email them and plead ignorance as Nilrem is right except that you are meant to sort it before you purchase

I can open it on the reader program on my netbook, but as soon as i disconnect the reader i get the digital management screen.

How do I link my reader to Digital Editions?
Once you have authorised your Adobe Digital Editions Library, you should then plug your Reader in to your computer. A window will appear asking you if you would like to authorise your Reader to your Adobe Digital Editions, giving the email address used for your Adobe account. If this is correct, accept this action and your Reader will be authorised to your Digital Editions


This never happened, and i think thats the problem
