Sun Holidays / Parkdean Holiday Site

Options
Hello,

I was wondering if someone was able to kindly offer me some advice.

This year, for the first time, I have started collecting Sun holiday vouchers and applied on-line to our chosen holiday park (ParkDean Trecco Bay). I booked four nights from 9th July and payed just under £80 on-line. Happy days!

The following day as soon as I walked into work we had a staff meeting, and the boss told us that the whole company (we are only small) are being placed on a training course that would mean we are away for a couple of days in July - the dates being the 10th and 11th July!

I then got home and my son brought a letter home about his work experience which, believe it or not was for one week from 9th July!

So i immediately called ParkDean Trecco Bay, and explained how much we were looking forward to the holiday (first in 5 years!), explained we had a couple of un-planned clashes and wondered if we could move the date we arrive from the 9th July to 23rd July, but keep everything else the same. The lady explained that there was a "no refund and no change of dates" policy on the t and c's - which there was, but I just wondered if anyone had any experience of changing the date of a Sun holiday or if there was any reason I could give to persude them to just move us a couple of weeks later?

Many thanks

Apart from their 'nochanges/refunds' policy, you do realise you are asking to change the date into the high season?
    School holidays and all that.

The reason these cheap holidays exist is to fill spare capacity at slack times.

I think you will be out of luck, but you may stand a better chance going the other way... into June.
  • Yes, that's an idea, thanks, I don't mind June....... I will put that to them, if they are are un-willing to move earlier, is there anything I could do legally? I am not asking for my money back or to change anything else about the booking, just the date..... so they are still getting the booking and the revenue?

    Many thanks

There is nothing legally you can do.
    You have purchased a non-cancellable, non-changable holiday.

The only way is to ask nicely.

If you think about selling the holiday, consider who would get the bill if the new holidaymakers trash the place.
  • It's all down to their goodwill, and given they make practically zero on these holidays I'd say you have little to no chance of them changing it.
