You know it makes sense! Even though the colour does not match my new Dell 2400, it's better than paying out an extra £20 just for that!
Hope I shall have fun with this. All I have to do now is to sell my Sony Trinitron 15" flat screen monitor.
KeithBetter in my pocket than theirs!0 -
The e-yama models are made by iiyama, but they are a rebadged budget range, probably exsclusive to the dixons group.
However i have seen these monitors on the net for sometime and while they are ok for office use they are useless for games and movie playback.
The lower the msec rating the better they are.
An average monitor should be about 16ms, but you can get better.
I use the Iiyama 10ms monitor, i payed £240 in December, but you can now get it for this you bet ( £183). Sorry if you have to copy and paste I am new to this.
This is a bargain price for the fastest response time available, and in my opinion, made by the best.0 -
I just bought the digimate 19" one from the aria website, but I have 1 dead pixel, or maybe 2 towards the top left corner. Should I return this through the distant selling regulations where I have a 7 day cooling off period.
I've already tried massaging it but no joy.
Cheers,

You need to ask Aria what their dead pixel policy is. It's likely to be up to 3 pixels on a budget LCD (monitor is considered perfect with up to 3 stuck or dead pixels).
As you say, you will probably have to use the distance selling rules. The only problem is that you're liable for postage both ways. It may be better to sell the monitor locally to recoup your costs.
An LCD consists of millions of transistors. If any of the transistors are faulty then this will show up as a 'dead' or 'stuck' pixel ('stuck' pixels are where one colour is permanently on).
Panel manufacturers grade their panels according to the number of defects. These panels are then sold on to monitor manufactures. Manufactures pay a premium for panels with zero defects over panels with one or more defects.
This cost is inevitably passed on to the consumer. Therefore, the chance of have some defects on a very cheap LCD is much greater than on an LCD from a premier brand such as Iiyama, NEC or EIZO.
You should always check the manufacturer’s and the retailer’s dead pixel policy BEFORE purchasing an LCD screen.0
