Vehicle accident - hit someone's bollard

The guy is hacked off because you showed no respect for his property if you had just gone in and told him it would probably have been fine.
Where these bollards are placed are of no concern to you and none of your business.0 -

Sounds to me like the guy would still have blown up, he was clearly an old troll, spoiling for an argument and trust me they love nothing more. They spout totally illogical crap and they think their age will stop you punching them.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

So let me see if I have got this right, you hit something on someone's property, a stationary object. You don't even live there yet you feel the need to go to the planning department? :eek:0 -

Strider if I hit your weekend car with my car and drove off saying no damage you would be the first to lose the plot.0 -

Might see a post on here asking if thats true
Tell him your thinking of painting your half bright pink or yellow or maybe half and half?
Spotted mushrooms.
As mentioned he's hit a permanent, stationary object, where it was located does not effect his liabilty.0 -
If there is no damage, why would you tell them?0

I wouldn't deliberately park it somewhere where it's vulnerable and then sit at my living room window peering through the net curtains for 3 years, muttering my reaction speech to myself whilst waiting for someone to hit it.........“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

A grand's worth of damage to the car. Do you really think there isn't so much as a scratch on the bollard? OP's just trying to twist it to look like a victim but the facts speak for themselves; hit a stationary object, left the scene, didn't report the collision to anyone... The bollard owner is angry at having to get a small brush out and fill in the scratches, this takes 5 minutes but I believe he probably did do it. I'd be angry too.
My thoughts too.
Getting out to apologise and offer to do the painting yourself would have been a good start.
Not sure how the damage comes to a grand unless you've scraped the entire side of the car.
Dad managed to knock some old bloke's wall with his van when leaving a job a few weeks ago. Went back in, explained and apologised, just misjudged the reverse and he's not had a claim for donkey's years. Old boy was fine about it. Just rubbed the brick. Made a mess of the bumper/wing though. You know once you hit something like that going forwards or backwards is only going to make it worse!
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Oh come off it. You have a dashboard video cam which you use to publish the transgresions of other drivers.
The only difference is you would use technology do do your curtain twitching.
Oh the irony.0 -
^^ But im probably right...“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
