    I buy my stuff here:

Family run business and rates seem pretty good. Ask for discount as always.

I have an AEG machine and it runs great. Was a bit pricey though.

S&R ... very hard to beat & claim to price match !
  • Hi folks, i have just been reading this and had to write and tell you all about VSL in lisburn. This project involves collecting furniture and white goods that would previously be going to landfill, refurbishing them to the highest standard employing people on the new deal scheme, community service and volunteers and selling them on at a reasonable price. The white goods service has just started, whilst the furniture side of things is more established. You should see what people in the lisburn area are throwing away, the quality and standard of their goods is second to none!! VSL will deliver your new appliance for free and take away your old appliance either for refurbishment or for parts. Its certainly worth investigating if you are in south Belfast. This is Northern Irelands best kept secret. The have a website that you can check out. spread the word!!!!

Thanks WillyK, they're near where I live so I'll have a look, I know my SIL bought a cooker from them and is very happy with it.

Thanks Milko, that's on the Cregagh/Woodstock Road isn't it?

Rosiepud, that organization looks great! I don't think I'd have time to get over to Lisburn to buy off them but might see if they want my old machine for parts.

Lazer do have a hotpoint machine with all the specs in my price range but I'd still like to check out a couple of other places before buying.

I've ended up ordering a hotpoint machine from laser with all the specs I wanted. Saw it yesterday but didn't want to commit as I had a splitting headache, glad I waited as it's on offer today at £30 cheaper! Have to pay £15 for delivery and am still waiting on Tesco to collect the damaged one which I'm now threatening to leave in the garden if it's not gone before the other one arrives on Monday.

None of the smaller stores had a 16 hundred spin as there isn't enough demand for them.

Sales man tried to sell hubby the extended warranty claiming that machines are only built to last three years, hubby didn't think of asking him whey they charge so much for them in that case

The hotpoint site says it only delivers to mainland England, Scotland or Wales?

I asked a similar question a few weeks back - got great advise. Bosch and AEG kept coming up as good brand. Ended up with the AEG as it offered a 5 year parts and labour warranty (Bosch only 3 years). I found that Hanna and Brown in Newtownards (female sales woman) would match any price with free delivery, but ended up buying from Sams Ur Man Newtownards as he had the model in stock. Got a 1400 speed model oringianl price £440 down to £385. Good washing machine, but is noisey on the spin.

Had the Bosch Exxcell 1200 7KG model down to £369 (original price £405) Prob more than you want to spend but it will give you an idea of how far they will price drop.

The place in Carryduff is DR Electrics, I notice that they sell washing machines on Ebay - Make An Offer bid.
