IT would be easier for your LA to house a single male than housing a mother and kids surely? If you can afford to pay the mortgage PRESUMABLY your wife would be entitled to benefits, WFTC etc if she isnt working and living on her own, which may help financially. I'm thinking short term just to enable you to have a roof over your head, your children to stay settled and to bide your time until the house is out of NE. Or am I missing something? (Probably, its been a LOOONG day)
There is a secured loan on the property which is 3x the mortgage in payments, so I would have to cover this, as well as the capital of the mortgage ( LA would only over the interest )
That leaves me in a kind of a pickle. The point of wife moving out into private rented is that it will / would be paid for, and thus she could afford to live. She could not ( and Mortgage and SL would not let me ) remove my name, as I pay for both atm, and she earns nada.
But LA had said, your name is on the mortgage, you have a roof over your head, your not entitled to HB, and if we sell, then I am left with approz £25,000 unsecured dept ( ok they can split it 50/50 but what are they going to get out of the wife, on income support, nada )
Its a difficult situation I know, but there must be a away to "financially" suit us all?If at first you don't succeed. Remove all evidence that you have tried

How big is the house? If you stayed there, could you take lodgers as an extra income stream?Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...0

Thats not an issue really, as I could afford the house, its just getting the wife housed. At the end of the day, this is her choice, not mine. I never ever wanted this to happen, and non of the family do either, but thats that.hearts wrote:Tell het to go to the Housing and say you are beating her up and she must move to a house that you don't know about cos she is terrified you are going to carry on abusing her
Then have the police and Social Services monitoring my every move, for just something I said ( her sister is in this situation with her ex hubby ) I don't think so.
I have heard that if I move out, and don't pay for the house, it gets reposessed. Once a repo order is in place, she can then apply for housing needs and they would have to house her. I can then step in and save the repo order and continue to live in the house and pay for it.
Don't know anybody that has done this, except my parents old next door neighbours did, but they have since moved away.
Why is it, then when you try to seperate nicely and whats best for everybody, then system steps in and !!!!!!s everything up. I mean, she cannot afford the house, I can. Its better for her to move closer to the childrens schools, so she isn't using the car as much, saving her money. Its all for the right reasons. If at first you don't succeed.
