V quickly someone on here mentioned the new Walmart & Publix, we usually go way down 192 to Kissimmee so that will save time.
First stop after picking up the keys McDonalds for my Mum (I know but what can you do) & Cracker Barrel for me & I found out there is one 10 mins away rather than going downtown. Looking forward to exploring 27
I'm so jealous, would love to be heading somewhere right now. Can't complain too much cause I'm going to Florida in JulyBooked and paid for it out of a compensation payout I got, decided both of us needed something good to keep us going.
Then I paid off ALL my debts after struggling for years with them. Borrowing from one to pay another, also made the big mistake of using payday loans (cost us loads) because we'd no other choice. Credit cards maxed constantly, savings all gone, not sleeping because worrying how to pay the next thing, selling what valuables we had just to pay bills, having to shop day to day because that was how our money was earnt, owing family money and was years before they got it back
Feeling a bit down now after writing that, it's just reminded me how bad things had got and how hard DH had it for so long while we were both out working as much as we could just to make ends meet.
Sorry to be taking things down this miserable route but no one else to talk to about itSPC #329 £471/£500 banked

MKS - your post has brought many tears to my eyes. Your mum was a lucky lady to have such lovely kids
3dogs - I don't know how you do it. I hope whatever happens that your mum knows how much you and your siblings care for her
sorryaboutmywife - sorry to hear about your brother. Hopefully you'll find out some more soon.
And for Valentine's Day, my ex is apparently taking legal action against me. At £100/hour he can feel free to waste his time & money :rotfl:
Thank you cas. We were the lucky ones. She was raised in a childrens home when her mum remarried and new chap didn't want mum or her brother and sister around. Life was very hard for them then. So family was always been the be all and end all. She worked at whatever she could to help out (early morning cleaning etc) so that we had the basics and so that she was always there for us before/after school etc. She was a dinner lady at the village school as well.
Hope all goes well for you against your ex. On a flippant note, blooming heck, legal fees are cheap there! Average here is over double that:eek::eek: Make sure you toast yourself tonight x0 -
3Dogs, how I feel for you. :grouphug:.
It takes me back a couple of years when Mum was in a similar situation. I used to go to the home to feed her (amongst other stuff she had Alzeimer's and would refuse food from the staff) and made sure that each time I saw her that I told her that I loved her and that she was the best Mum in the world. Even tho she was in alot of pain, her mouth would move to try and smile, her arm would try to hug me and she would try to brush her lips on my face. She was unable to talk properly at this stage. It meant such alot to her that her family always went to see her. (We were lucky as at the time we all lived fairly close to the home). The doctors were surprised that she held on for so long. One night, we got a call that she'd been taken to hospital, bleeding profusely. We got to the hospital as the ambulance arrived. The paramedic told us that she had taken viagra:eek::eek:. When the doctor was examining her, I told her what the paramedic had said. She said explained what was wrong but we all burst out laughing. Mum, who hadn't been able to string two words together for ages, opened her eyes, giggled and said 'You silly b**g*rs, do you think I need that in my condition!' It was like having my old mum back. She got taken up to a ward and at 3 o'clock the doctor told us to go home as there was nothing else we could do and to think if we wanted her to be buried/cremated. We were devasted, A couple of hours later, the hospital called to say that mum was being taken back to the home.!When I got to the hospital, the staff apologised for the distress that the doctors' words had caused!
Mum lasted another few months and at the end, all of her family were with her. The last words she ever heard were that she was the very bestest mum in the whole world, that we all loved her so much and thanked her for all she'd done for us and how lucky we were to have had her. She looked at all of us as if she knew it was the end and smiled.
I am just so pleased that she was surrounded by love and not alone.
Now for the soppy part. Make sure that your loved ones know that you love them (and not just today because it's Valentines Day!) because you never know what's round the corner.
Happy Birthday Decay, hope that you have a good one.:bdaycake:
Seconded MKS, crying while reading that.
Last words I said to DH as I went out to work the night he died was 'Love u' never saw him alive againWe said it all the time as we were leaving each other, always the last words either of us said regardless of who was there.
Let them know how you feel and take care of them always x

I got mix of 10 packs and outdoor freezer is now bursting at seams.Had to move couple of bits to indoor freezer that I still have not defrosted and am meant to be emptying. Was on the before xmas jobs list. Think if it was not for the ice in that one everything might have fitted in.
I must make it a priority. Have taken the most awkward shaped things out for tea tomorrow so I could redo both jigsaws after taking everything out. Did not take as long as I thought it would though, thank goodness. :T
Would have like to have got the 15 piece selection you managed to get but none where I went. Probably good job too. Think 3 freezers might be taking it a bit too far. But I'm sure some of you will put me right. :rotfl:0
