    do we eck!!!!!!

sorry but that's rubbish HC, by gum i'd be a rich woman and NOT sat on flippin MSE if that were true:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

antidepressants have there place and they do work when prescribed appropriately for the right patient!!!!
There are many reasons why they might not work-obviously other diagnoses need excluding first and also other modalities of treatmement need to be considered for example -psychological approaches or counselling for the milder forms of depression.

    Sorry rant over
evening everyone, off for a shower, will be back to answer questions later:D:D:D

still not caught up on now 4 days of posts:(:(:(:( behind

Maybe not money, and maybe not to the GP's directly but there are 'Incentives' to prescribe new drugs or a certain manufacturers drugs. It's true cos I seen it on the telly box! In all seriousness, it was one of those current affairs programmes like Dispatches or something like that.

DS done his AQE (11+) and got a lot less then he expected, I'm not sure if the teacher expected him to get more until I speak to her on Monday.
I will be asking again about the testing and insisting that something is done sooner rather than later

    where have you been Nikki???????:A

Evening, been on total rest with my right arm:(Had my third steroid in it for tennis elbow but the doctor wanted to get 5 points of my elbow so it's really sore now, but I think it's worked as pain in my hand and forearm is feeling much better. It's only temporary relief I know but having physio at the same time.Doctor is sending me to the consultant and wants me to have the operation but I couldnt cope with the pain much more(I've had it for two years) so relented to another steroid jab, but this one was the worst.I think he just wanted to make sure the steroid went everywhere in my elbow it was supposed to.
But Happy my little :A is playing naughty tonight I think;)

  • Hi , I've only just started on here but thought I would share my own perspective on your situation. it's really positive that you have made a step towards feeling better by seeing the docs. I hope you feel a bit brighter soon
I had counseling last year, which I didn't like tbh, maybe it was just the counselor I had. He just made me more upset and down with myself. Which I assumed wasn't the idea!

I have seen counsellors on 2 occasions, one time it was really helpful, the other time absolutely rubbish. I think maybe a lot depends on who you see and what your issues are. Always worth at least one go with the new counselor and then take it from there maybe.
I don't know what to think at the moment tbh :/ I've never taken anti-depressants before and wonder how they will work. (yeah I know they're meant to help) but how will they effect me etc.

In my experience they won't make you feel totally different but will just lift your mood enough so that you feel more able to deal with things. There are different types out there that you can try if you don't get on with one type. Bear in mind they take a few weeks to kick in.

Did you get ya roasting trays Issy? :D

Thanks for asking but I don't know yet! My sister was supposed to be collecting them for me on her way from work last night but she forgot. She said that she'd pick them up tonight for me but I can't contact her as she isn't answering her phones. She's probably run away with them!
