A friend of mine went to Gretna last year, didn't tell anyone lol! She and her husband agreed it was the best thing they ever did, it's beautiful there apparently and they only had themselves to please...:T

I wish we had done that.Only had a 'proper wedding' cos of family. Went passed Gretna in the summer but it was night time so didn't get to see much of the scenery.lol :)

You dont have to get married, just engaged! We have been enaged for 7 yrs. wedding had to be put off due to cost of court case, and that only finished last year. Now we are too far away from family to bother. Id be happy popping up to gretna!

I got married in Gretna on my 1st attempt :rotfl:

Just been looking at the who we are list and lots of posters not listed yet.
With so many newbies joining recently, I wondered whether everyone knew about it and whether it needed a bit of a bump?

Put me on your waiting list i will buy your book :)

I was thinking more of a proof reader. I did start it last year and was in contact with a publisher. He gave me some constructive critism! He 'liked' what i submitted but was more about physical abuse rather than the physchological. I truely think it would be interesting to read the things myself and ds1 went through were extraordinary. You wouldnt believe it even if you read it!

I think i need to do a lot of tweeking so if anyones up for it? Might take a while though!

Might be wrong but I would've thought psychological abuse wld be more interesting and more people cld relate to it on some level. What I'm saying is... silly publisher. :p

Seems crazy when you think about it, the friend who went to Gretna had the best day ever and I've got another friend getting married locally next week putting so much pressure on herself it's unreal.

She's renewing her vows because her Mum passed away just before her first wedding and her husband had cancer last year too (he's OK now) so they had to delay it so the pressure for it to be perfect is almost too much for her:(

When she found out our other friend went to Gretna she said "why didn't she tell me"...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: bless her!! I did explain why...

We both have large families, mne especially. Wat id like to do is wait until ds1 is 16 in 2 yrs. hes got his day planned and consists wholly of changing his name by deed pole and wiping his hands clean. That way we will all have same name. Dont want him to be odd one out after his life thus far
