I used to hate doing them! I used the wonderweb type of stuff, iron them on and then just a few stitches to hold them in place in case it washed offIf it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:0 -

Jumblejack, have you any tips on potato cakes? My grannie used to make them and they were wonderful, hot out of the oven (on a cold winter day) with home-made butter (which used to run down my chin). I made some the other day and they were a tasteless disappointment. The stuff they sell in the supermarkets purporting to be potato cakes is pretty tasteless. Thanks IA
I have never made em I'm afraid. I know what you are referring to though.
I save my leftover mash to add to cheese, onion and then I stick it in a pastry lined dish then top with tomato slices and bake. Or sometimes I mash in a tin of corned beef and do the same.
