    I WISH you could :)

I would love to play around with your camera. Your photo really inspired me. OH has just said we need a better zoom lens for the camera. We haven't got a tripod either. I must make a mental note to buy something useful for our anniversary this year!!!!!!

You don't really need a zoom lens, mine was a wide angle (12-24) I had it sitting at about 15. Any lens will do as long as you have it on f4 or 5.6 Don't really need a tripod either the top of a wall or the roof of a car with a bean bag to prop it up will do. :)
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

Sounds like a lovely mother n daughter day. Can't get a more rewarding experience than preparing for a wedding!

Good on yer for being such a fab mum. I would actually nominate you for a reward if there was a current competition. A mother who is solely responsible for a daughters wedding catering has got to be top of the list:T

How is the planning going? Seems like you have things pretty much under control.

Thank you for the kind comments :)
The planning is going well,we booked the wedding car last weekend after seeing it first, can`t tell you anything about it sorry Toni wants it to be a suprise.
I am now trying to sort out all the vintage plates and so on,working out what food goes on what platter. We have 3 lovely cake stands and we need some more.I`m putting some Wedgewood items on ebay soon, which we got in the job lot we bought,Toni feels that they are far too expensive to use for her reception,I don`t really share that thinking with her.Nothings too good for any of my children.
I know I am very lucky to be able to do this for Toni and I would do it for my other two too.
    Must go,tea cups calling :rotfl::rotfl:
Take care and thank you again :D

Got up early to make a few cupcakes as a friend should be bringing her kids round later. Used up the last of the marg (only use it when baking for guests as it is cheaper than butter). Used up the last of the ground almonds and a couple of pears that need using too. (made pear n almond cupcakes)
Just got text that the kids are all full of cold so now we've got to eat em  I HATE margarine and don't like eating cake just for the sake of it.

At least I didn't get round to topping em.

What is everyone else doing today?

We are finishing off a space project with kids.
Went Jodrell bank yesterday and going to another observatory tonight.
Making papier mâch! models of their chosen planets and writing up reports for yesterday's field trip.

At least dinner is made. No cooking today, yay. Rice in the thermal cooker too so easy peasy dinner.

Shame about the cakes ... they sound yum!

    Well I'm:
    1. Finishing of my Self Assessment ... and not very happy since I've had almost zero work this year ... and it looks like I have to pay more tax than I thought I would.
    2. Preparing for an interview I have tomorrow ... for a job I don't want ... cos it would mean a move (to another country) and a HUGE upheaval ... hoping that the company will let me work remotely
    3. Making sure everything is in place for a 'mum sitter' and a 'child minder' for tomorrow
    4. Hoping something from the batch of clothes I got from Mr T yesterday will do me for my interview (juggled a few conditional spends)
    5. Having hair done (highlights) at a hair academy this afternoon
    6. Doing the usual stuff (tackling a mountain of daily washing/ironing)
    7. Fitting in a visit to Mr T?? :rotfl:
I like the sound of a visit to Jodrell bank ... we're not that far ... have you any info/links you can share? My 2 are much too young at the moment ... but they just love "the moon" and looking for stars :)

Anyone can cuddle but only the Welsh can cwtch :)
  • I finally started on my list of things to do, wrote it when I moved in with parents in November

Done 1 thing, phoned the exam body who organised the AQE (11+) to change DSes address so his results come to the right place. He gets them this Saturday so just as well I rang, I would have been so  if I'd forgotten.
Think that's enough for one day :rotfl:
I'm aiming at doing at least one thing on the list each day so that I don't feel rushed about doing several that I would rather put off forever

    SPC 2014 £1100:D

    Just found this
    http://www.freewebs.com/sql-provida/policy.html

Quite old but most things still going on today.

A couple of things you may want to write down.

Dtd has to be given under Section 14 of the Trade Descriptions Act.
By displaying the fact they operate a dtd policy they are obliged by law to give it.

The Consumer Protection Act 1987 says it is a criminal offence for a trader to display misleading price indications. If prosecuted, a company can face a maximum fine of £5,000 for each individual offence
This could be quoted if they try and say the barcodes are different or similar.

By quoting any of the above you could result in putting yourself on the radar or possibly being banned so only use in extreme circumstances.

    Morning all

I have just been and read through that whole site and it makes very interesting reading - thank you, you never know when things like that may come in handy xx

    .

many thanks Decay , is there any indication that stores who don't display the DTD promise have to adhere to it ?

Just wondered as a local T's doesn't display the DTD promise .
