Reclaiming overpayment from a previous electricity supplier
I have just had my electricity meter checked and it was found to be running fast. My current supplier has agreed to refund overpayments. I have been with my current supplier for 2 years but the meter has been installed for much longer. Does anyone know if I can reclaim overpayments from my previous supplier?

As you old supplier will have purchased electricity to supply you based on the readings and sold it to you it is highly unlikely they can do anything because this can't be unpicked. Also how can you prove to them when the meter went wrong? It could have been last week/month/year.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
