    You do not have a joint claim. A joint claim is where the benefit is paid to one recipient but there is a requirement for both to attend the Jobcentre fortnightly and be actively seeking and available for work. This is not the case for you as you do not have to attend the Jobcentre.

    It is a requirement that as a couple you claim benefit together, if you were to make separate claims for JSA and Income Support without any link this would be fraud.

    Why do you care if its Income Support or JSA? You would get the same money and entitlements AFAIK

    Joint as in husband and wife, joint as in you both created the children, joint as in you live in the same household, joint as in that's what married means.

    The state isn't going to pay you a seperate amount of money, because you want to stay at home and look after the children.
