Hello all forum members and apologies if this question has already been asked and answered previously.

In my first attempt of stoozing, I got a 0% Tesco credit card last year, raked it up almost to a max limit and now that the interest free period was up, paid it off completely last month, well withing the due date. I've now received a statement and they have cheek to charge me interest!!!! How can this be right?? Or is it some sort of residual interest??? The amount is very small (under £5), but I was not expecting it, after having cleared the balance in full by due date

  • When did the promo actually expire? It's often not your due date, but another specified date in that month. I suspect you've overshot the promo period slightly.

That would be my guess also. Promotional periods rarely end on statement due dates.

Thanks, I shall check the paperwork once at home.
Have not noticed anything on the statements re: promotion deadline but will have a closer look.
  • Check your statement from 12 months ago - when was transfer made?

Is this actual interest or "estimated interest" for next month?

I had the same thing a few months ago with tesco credit card. I called CS and they said something about have to clear the whole amount for two months or something like that. Cant remember why now but i said it wasnt fair as i wasnt aware. The CS then said he would refund me and they did. The interest was just under £5 as well.

That'a completely different scenario. That's about carrying and clearing a revolving balance.
