Hanging Curtains

Options
Just in the process of hanging some curtains, and when I open/drape them I want the two curtains to stay together at the top, covering the track. Not sure if i've explained that very well, but does anyone know how i do this?

thanks

  • Do you mean a pelmet?

  • Hi,

if you're using a rail you could put two of the end pieces, which lock on the rail, together in the centre, and maybe use the second from end eyelets, to allow curtains to squish together.

If you are using a pole, then tie the two centre rings together.

Don't want the hassle of putting up a pelmet as selling the house, just want the curtains to cover the track underneath.

Bit like this, but i'm using a curtain track rather than a pole.

If the curtains are lightweight then just use a big safety pin to tie them together at the top. I've done this on a set of voiles for the window on my stairs and it works fine. Just stick the pin into the fabric from behind.

Or as someone else has said, tie the innermost rings together or you could attach two further brackets at the centre of the pole to 'lock' the innermost rings in.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

Didn't have any end pieces left over, but ended up tying the two middle hooks together with one of those sandwich bag ties.

    Problem solved
    thanks
