Set top box recommendation needed

Hi

Could someone please recommend a box in the £30-35 range? I've not heard good things about Sagem, but am thinking of taking a chance buying any model from Tesco and seeing how it performs.

I did this at the weekend - bought the cheapest one Argos had (£20) and it works fine!

We will need to upgrade the ariael at some point as some channels are not brilliant, but it has a 7 day guide and an upgrade is not urgent right now.

For me and my family - it was worth the £20 just for Cbeebies!

I think I know the make you're referring to.

Buying cheap might prove to be a false economy if you have to upgrade the aerial.

The cost of the box has nothing to do with the aerial  if the aerial needs upgrading,it needs upgrading! we have 2 of the cheapest boxes from Asda, fantastic, can't fault them,we also have one that came with the TV,a much more expensive one,we have had it replaced twice this year,I would go with the cheapset ;)

    livinginhope...

I read in Which? magazine that some of the Sagem models give poor pic quality in areas where the signal is weak.

Following your experience I'll have a look in Asda when I'm passing. Why pay more if a budget model does the job?
