Unpinning Spotify from taskbar and other glitches

I have recently had my computer system updated to Windws 7 and have having a few gliches with it.
Firstly I cannot seem to unpin Spotify from the taskbar (the bar at the bottom where the start up menu can be opened), and whenever I power up my computer it automatically loads. I have tried to unlock the taskbar and get rid of Spotify but so far have failed, and it just keeps on appearing in the taskbar. Can anyone help?
Secondly when I click on to a new tab to go to another page of my choice, I used to come up with a page which stated places I had previously visited, ie facebook, yahoo, etc. Now it comes up with a box which states about scripts, and do I wish to run them or not. Not sure why I am getting this and why I no longer get the choice of previously visited sites.
Thirdly I seem to have changed the appearance of the home screen in that I can see the desktop at the top of the screen and which I don't want but I'm not sure how to make the screen revert to full page which doesn't show the top of the desktoop ... if you get my drift.
Help please !

Did a local shop install W7 for you? If so, they need to address these issues. If you have moved from XP then you will see some differences too.0

1. This is two separate problems. Spotify is starting when you power up your computer because it's been added to your start-up sequence. This will be slowing down your boot up as well.
To fix:
Click on your start button and type msconfig in the search box then hit enter.
In the window which opens:
Click to select the Normal Startup option
Select the Startup tab
Scroll down to spotify and untick the box
Click OK
Reboot your computer and it should now start without Spotify.
If Spotify is still on your task bar (it might not be; its running icon looks the same as its task bar icon), you should now be able to right click on it and unpin it.
2. Oh, just change to a decent browser, please! IE does what it feels like! It might go back to what you want if you accept the message.
3. Maximise the window by clicking on the box next to the "close cross" in the top right corner of the window.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
Many thanks WhiteChristmas - I have followed your instructions for query (1) and it seems to have worked ... many thanks..
Query (2) - What browser would you recommend and how would I go about getting it?
I have already tried clicking the box next to the cross (to maximise windows) for query (3) and it goes smaller not larger.0 -
Google chrome is the best browser available in my (and millions of others) opinion. you can download it here: http://www.google.co.uk/chromeTotal debt Aug 2012: £3800, Nov: £3225, Dec: £3151.45 2013: Jan: £1544.24 :j Feb: £1492.03

It seems that the new system came with Google Chrome and its on my desktop, but I was unsure what it was. How do I make this my default browser?
Also I tried to download Microsoft Office 97 to my system as I did previously have it and found it to be useful. Managed to download the whole lot which I didn't really require (Word and Excel included) and then found that I had these already on the new system, and only really required some form of diary/reminder system and Access.
Access did not download successfully and my system asked me to download it again, which I found I couldn't, and I cannot now get rid of the whole thing for the same reason. Its such a muddle, and I now have these Office 97 programmes on a toolbar at the bottom of the screen, all of which I now want rid of as I'm sure its just causing overload which is not now required.
Should obviously have thought this through more carefully but I feel stuck with it now.
