Hi, before I got a comp with a DVD burner, I used to put all my Photos on CD, and these played ok on a DVD/TV combo, however ive now got a DVD burner, and to use the greater capacity, Ive used this to "Burn" my photos on.
However these will not play on the DVD/TV combo, despite the DVD player saying that DVD+/- or DVD R/RW are playable, ive tried "Imageburn", still no joy.
But a pirate DVD+R will play on it. Any ideas, thanks.

Does the player recognise the disc at all?
If so, I can't think of any reason why it would play CDs but not DVDs.
Have you changed the file structure? Does it just show pictures in the root directory of the disc? Are directories and sub directories being ignored? Is there a maximum number of images it can deal with in any given directory?
I'd be inclined to sacrifice a few discs to find out what it can and can't do.
One with a dozen photos in the root directory.
One with a dozen in the root then another dozen in a directory.
One with root, directory and sub-directory entries.
Then increase the number of files, etc etc
Afraid it might just be "one of those things".I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
Presumably the burned discs will play on the computer that you burned them on - if not, then there is a problem with the way you are burning them.
If they play OK on the computer, then there is some incompatibility between the discs and the TV-player unit.
I had a similar problem once and found that it was because I was burning the photos from a 5 megapixel camera onto the disc and that each individual file was too large for the player to handle.
Although I would expect that more modern players would handle 5 mps files now, if you are trying to get it to handle 10 or 12 megapixel files, that might be too much if it is a budget-priced unit.
Try using a picture editor to reduce the pixel-count of one that won't play in its normal state (or copy a picture from the web) and burn that to see if the reduced pixel count resolves the problem.0 -
It might be worth trying to burn the disks at a lower speed... I used to have problems on certain machines in burning at the default speeds...0

Have you finalised the discs? Most players won't read them if they are left open.0
