Camping in the South of France

Hi all looking at booking a flight with oh to south of france (marseile) at the beginning of August. Can anyone suggest cheap camp sites or places to stay.

We would prefer a mobile or tent but by the looks of things these are going to be too expensive so we'll camp ourselves.

We don't mind travelling to a few places while there.

any help would be great!

That takes me back. I went to a site between Marseilles and Nice 2-up on a 250 cc motorbike. Lovely holiday, But If I was going again, I would investigate the price of the ferry to Santander and save myself all the hassle of the driving and putting up the tent just for one night - several times.
There are many good sites there. Just beware of the Mistral. We got flooded on our first night.

https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk They have a section on camp sites in France and on each site previous holiday makers give a review. Ive used this lots and always found the reviews to be spot on.

Can get flights for £50 at the minute and then hire car for 2 weeks is about £250. Have seen one campsite which looks to be about 25 euro a night camping the cheaper the better though!
