iPad stylus for child with special needs?

Weird suggestion, and don't ask how I found it out, but a lemon works wonders on a capacitive screen. If you use the sort of pointy edge (I don't know lemon terminology) a bit like a pen, it works as a surprisingly accurate stylus. Not a great long term solution, but one that may be helpful while you're waiting for one you've ordered in the post!0

This is my case and it's actually toddler proof; shop around and you can get it for £30ish
Yes, I spent a lot of time choosing a case and went for the Otterbox Reflex because I'm disabled and having seen the Griffin and the Otterbox Defender it seemed I'd be better off with the slimmer case (and the Harness). Then his teacher dropped this requirement on me and my heart sank LOL
How scratch resistant is the Griffin? And can you replace the screen protector bit if it does get scratched?

Says available to UK.
Since my initial post I've also realised that a straight stylus isn't going to work - because of his sensory dyspraxia he usually uses the chunky, trigrip type pencil or a finger grip - which is invariably made of plastic. So the specific item you've linked to isn't suitable but...
I love the idea and we might have the beginning of a solution. I don't know why I didn't think of conductive textiles when I saw the DIY foam.
