Does it show signs of someone going through it and picking.
Doing someone elses stuff can be easier than doing your own family as long as you stay detached.
ebay, freecycle, auction, skip, tip, charity, bonfire
should do most of it, finding enough to make it worth while will be the issue.0 -
If you do decide to go ahead I would be wary of the vendor "cherry picking" items of value before completion.
Personally, I would get them to empty the house....moving is stressful enough without having to take someone else's tat to the tipNo longer trainee

The last repro i bought was full of the previous owners stuff, and i mean everything!! it was if they had gone to shops and never came back.
They were given plenty of time to collect by the bank but never did.
It took me a week of hard work getting rid.
Have you took this into account? (i did on my offer)
I would either refuse there offer or ask them to remove all before exchange.0 -
I'd tell them I want it clear the day I move in or I'll be calling up the first company in the phone book to clear it and sending them the bill.0

Its almost certain someone will have taken anything of value
Depends what you mean by "full" of stuff.
If the TV is still there and its a nice one, there might be other valuables, but I certainly wouldnt agree to give them half the proceeds.
If you want any of it, it might be worthwhile clearing it yourself, if you dont, tell them you want it shifted.0 -
What would the logistics be?
Were you planning to move in on completion date?
I mean you cant/shouldnt organise a house clearing before youve completed. And once you have if its not all done on completion day how will you move your stuff in.
If its been empty that long, imagine you'd want it empty so you can get a thorough clean done and then move your stuff in.0 -
If you're just interested in clearing the stuff and not making any money on it, charity shops will do house clearances. I work in one and our manager does them with the van driver. They cant take everything, but its another option.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Either they absolve responsibility/ownership and you keep all profits as a reward for the effort (and potential cost) of it all, or they pay up to sort it themselves and keep the profits. Wanting you to do the hard graft AND give them a share of any money made it just having their cake and eating it too.0

Donate all the furniture to a church for free and give them a share of the profit - I.e. £00

Blooming cheek......I can sympathise as back in 1997 (in the days before eBay) we bought a large six bedroom Victorian house that had been 4 tenanted flats. The vendor had huge difficulties getting one of the tenants out and he had to be evicted eventually. That particular tenant left virtually all his worldly goods (which were pretty carp) behind and all the flats contained their furniture when we took possession.......almost 60 pieces in total
Prior to moving in (we had sold our house a couple of months previously and were staying with my parents with our stuff in storage) we contacted house clearance companies with a view to them taking the larger items - most appeared to want us to pay them for the privilege and weren't interested in most of it as it was rubbish......no nice antiques unfortunately!
I don't think there were such things as free cycle back then and if there were, we weren't aware of them. Even the local charities weren't interested, which surprised us at the time, so we ended up attacking most of the furniture with hammers and the like and had great fun smashing it all up. It then went on several skips.......all at our own expenseMortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0
