Didn't do research...in the cooling off period. What can I do?

I bought car insurance last night which was an upfront payment of £73 then £36 a month. Since then I have found another quote that is only £269 a year - a saving of £200.
I called to cancel the policy as I am in the 2 week cooling off period but am being told by the company that I will only get £23 back as they have a £50 admin charge...can they do this? Is there anything I can do?

Yes.Is there anything I can do?
Yes. Pay the cancellation fee or if there are valid grounds for a complaint, make one.0 -
There's nothing you can do about the £50 admin charge (if that's what you mean!). (Most companies would charge you a fee like this for cancelling in the first 14 days, if it's any consolation!)
You still going to be better off by cancelling!0 -
be happy you've saved £1500
