TCPOptimizer?

Has anyone here used TCPOptimizer? Is it any good or can it cause problems? I have just d/loaded it and clicked optimal settings and noticed it was going to alter some of my registry. Didn't go ahead with it just in case.

In my experience there is very little or no gain on dial up and nothing to gain on broadband by using that program... Changing your settings always comes with a risk... Why are you using it ?? do you have a problem with connection??
  • It will increase your P2P connectivity.

Doing that can have adverse effects on router firewalls.. Netgear and linksys have been known to interperate this kind of traffic as a DOS attack and causes them to shutdown the connection for 30 seconds....

I dont think that actually effects P2P as even without using the program I can specify and connect to well over 150 different seeds no problem and can download in excess of 850Kbs. I think the incoming connections part is more for web browsing as its an IE setting..

Although I could be mistaken but never had a problem with P2P
