HDMI troubles

I often use an HDMI cable from my laptop to to the TV. Works just fine - all I need do is hold the Fn key while tapping F8. I need help in getting the sound to come back to the laptop speakers when I disconnect the cable. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it does not and I cannot think what I am doing that is different. Can anyone?

Many thanks.

tapping the F8 may be the cause of your issue - most lappys are set so that the first F8 switches to dual display, and the second to external only, the third back to laptop screen only. You may be confusing it with too many F8 taps.....bear in mind the switchover between screen modes won't be instantaneous, you're probably overloading the buffer.
also, make sure you manually switch back to the lappy internal screen (and probably speakers) before unplugging the hdmi cable.

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
