Apologies if this is in the wrong section :j
We are looking at renting a rather large old stone property that has not got central heating, could anyone advise what is the most cost effective way of heating such a house? It's on 3 floors, ground floor is the hall way, 1st floor kitchen, office and living room, 2nd floor 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. There's no gas, just electric!

How hardy are you? The older I get the softer I get, think I would look elswhere unless you were just looking at +/-6 month rental.
Otherwise as Ormus suggests coal and firewood with perhaps a cheap blow heater to take the chill off a smll room.0 -
:rotfl:We do live in the countryside so wood is plentiful, however a chimney is required unfortunately!
I'm pretty hardy along with my 7 year old son but my partner isn't and we've got an 11 week old baby too ....0 -
as hintza says, id be looking elsewhere unless i had a small fortune to pay for the electric.

Thank you for your advice
There probably IS a chimney, it's just not in our section of the property, the other tenants must have that bit!0
