I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who doesn't have access to a computer at the moment.
She sells crafts at fundraising events, home parties, craft fairs, etc. She is thinking about starting accepting credit card payments through a smartphone or a tablet, but doesn't know how to go about it.
Although her craft items are not too expensive (from £5 to around £35), she lost several sales in the past because her customers didn't have enough cash or a cheque book on them.
Is this kind of payment available in the UK? If yes, which companies would you advise her to contact?
Many thanks.

The way I would approach it would be to start a website using Prestashop or Zen Cart as they have a credit card module built in to hookup to a Pay Pal account, really easy to setup without any programming knowledge. This way all the customer has to do is input their card details on the website and then pass the tablet back to your friend to confirm the transaction went through.
Bit of a faf mind you, the other way is to get a Barclaycard terminal from the bank but this is a much more costly way however much simpler to setup.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0
