Moving from Carer Benefits to starting a business - 2 Part question

    Hello - cant remember off the top of my head but there is a 6 to 8 weeks continuation of benefit following a passing away. It at least gives you a bit of breathing space to sort things out.

    As for JSA and HB they would really look at different things. You would be able to work up to 16 hours a week and any earnings over £5 would be deducted from your JSA (unless there is any help for starting up a business and in the recessess of my memory I think that there might be). For HB you would be able to make a claim on the grounds on low income even if you did not claim JSA
