Hi everyone,
I'm sure this has probably been asked before so I apologise - I get overwhelmed by the number of threads on here!
Anyway I am looking to buy my first home this year and am trying to create a budget to see how much it will cost me per month. The main thing I'd like an idea on is electric, gas and water costs. Any suggestions on a rough monthly cost for each on someting like a small 2 bedroom bunglaow or house with average consumption of each, with 2 occupants?
Thanks for your help

I would work on £100 a month for gas/elec and £30 a month for water (is it metered or not) usually it is cheaper.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Assuming you are buying a home in Norfolk as per your location you can look up your water suppliers website Anglian Water and find the charges. For a metered property the standing charges are £28 plus £79 plus £2.8615 per cubic metre of water. People on a meter use a bit less than average at about 50 cubic metres per year costing £143 per person. You said 2 people so the total bill would be about £393 per year. £32.75 per month.
If the property was unmetered then the charges are a minimum of £374.48 per year or £31.21 per month.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi, thanks that is very useful. That is actually around what I had budgeted for but wasn't really sure how close I was!Learn to speak Norfolk:
