When did it become mandatory that every child should have its own bedroom if the taxpayers funded the families housing costs?

There are plenty of workers whose children don't have that space.

I must admit that was one of the things I noticed that I was shocked about. I'd say most working families who have multiple children have children sharing rooms and that's hardly a hardship, but apparantly having to share a room is one of the criterias to be classed as living in childhood poverty!

Certainly isn't in my area....two of my boys share a bedroom and quite rightly so in my view.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I believe that children under 16 of the same sex are expected to share but only 2 to a room.

Could be wrong but my understanding was that children of different sex over 10 couldn't share and this was one of the criteria taken into account when councils/HA looked at reallocating larger homes etc?

  • don't people realise that all the landlords will just have to lower their rent expectations??? no one (or very few) will be made homeless.

until now, the landlord just raised the rent and the idiot government just paid it.

So you are saying " Don't people realise that these high benefits have been holding up rents and house prices?? "

Yes property will fall when these props holding up high prices are taken out.
