daughter claiming JSA-they need my work details?

Hi.
Was wondering if anyone can help here?
My 20 year old daughter is starting the claim process for JSA after loosing her job.
She has been asked to provide contracts and pay slips for everyone in the house she lives in who is employed.
Is that normal and how will what I earn ( although it is not much) affect her claim?
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can advise.

Sounds odd, I've never heard of this before. They usually only ask for the details of the individual or couple claimng means tested benefits.
Your earnings will have no effect on her JSA.0 -
are you sure its not for housing benifet?0

Your daughter is claiming JSA in her own right they do not need anyone elses details. The means tested section of the form asks many questions and they are not all straightforward. There is a part on the claim which asks if she lives with anyone else, your daughter may have completed this incorrectly which has led them to believe she has a partner?
She needs to ring them and clarify that she is making a single claim and ask why would they need any one elses details?
If it is for housing benefit then she has probably completed that part in error, unless she has some liabilty for rent and not just board. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -

She has probably misinterpreted household as house. In which case her household would not include you.0 -
Thanks very much to all who replied. Yes it certainly does seem that she has done something wrong on the form. I can stop wondering now. Thought it seemed very odd and intrusive. :T0
