Frustrated by the lack of jobs

When I became unemployed a few weeks ago I applied for 6 jobs, I thought WOW this isn't as bad as made out in the press, there are jobs out there, what I was doing was catching up on jobs that have been there god know how long, Nothing else has appeared since.
I am not being picky either, at the moment my choices at job centre are
Fieldsales advisor - I don't drive
Groundsperson - Back To Work Programme
Stitcher
2 more back to work programme jobs
2 Care assistant jobs
That takes in a 15 mile radius of where I live. I have a feeling I am going to be here for a while. I have signed up with the likes of Monster and all I am getting there is Army jobs, presumably to fill space as nothing is available, I want to work this is just so bloody frustrating:mad: I am actually enquired about that back to work program apparently I am not entitled having only recently just signed on but that seems to be the only jobs going that I might actually have a crack at. Is there anything else I can do? I've done the CV phone call thing as well, I might actually work for nothing for the time being to get me out of the house.

What type of job did you get made redundant from?
what other websites are you using?0 -
what area do you live and what are you looking for?0

100 cvs = 10 interviews = 1 job, or something like that. 6 applications is simply not enough.
start with monster, reed, totaljobs.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
Monster, you look like you are posting as a company rep. Please contact MSE towers so they can validate your identity. Otherwise we will assume you have a scam coming over the hill.Debt free 4th April 2007.

What is wrong with care jobs?0

the job centre is often not the place to look....start with the large websites as mentioned, but also look at your relevant work experience, the industry you were in/ who were your competitors and perhaps would have similar positions, use linkedin to connect to ex colleagues etc.....and think laterally...the six jobs mentioned it would be unlikely for anyone to tick all those boxes0

I feel for you OP! I've been unemployed since December. In that time I have made job applying my full-time job. I applied for 12 jobs in one day and probably around 56 in the time I've not had one. So far I have been offered one job but they required me to pay for my CRB and attend 2 weeks unpaid training which I simply cannot afford, plus the pay was minimum wage so I am continuing to search and apply. I am really sick of feeling useless and having little to work towards

Hi
Monster.co.uk has asked us to respond on its behalf. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the Forum.
Sorry to hear you're not finding the kind of jobs you'd like to on our site. Drop us an email to marketing@monster.co.uk and let us know what kind of jobs you're looking for in which location. Then we can try to work out why you're only seeing Army jobs and if there's anything else available.Could you do with a Money Makeover?
