Thanks, David, that's what I thought might be the case, as after posting the 2nd question, I finally found this, which enhanced your original response by saying "Anyone who was on a renewable contract at that time", which is slightly different to "will still get automatically renewed if their anniversary is on or before 2 December 2011", as the latter would not have included people with Renewal dates of 3rd December onwards:

    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10757/~/what-is-a-renewable-contract%3F

however, unfortunately, this has not happened in our case, and no doubt I would imagine in the case of other customers too.

Having gone back and checked our November bill, our Anytime Plan price no longer shows the original £1 benefit discount that it does up to our renewal date in late December 2011. 2011.

As an additional point, discovered whilst going back over last years bills in light of the initial query about the auto-renew contract situation, I realised that, whilst we always believed this discount to have been applied to the normal (and this is the wording used on earlier renewal invites) Anytime Plan price, it now seems that the 'normal' price was higher from January 2010 onwards than we had realised.

At renewal 2010, we were invited to renew at £4.99, with the normal price (ie without the £1 discount) being quoted on the invite as being £5.99. Can you clarify for me what the prices would then have been for normal Anytime Plan from January 2010 (following VAT increases) and from April 2010 (following general price reduction on Anytime plan)?

    Edit:

forgot to also ask, were letters sent to customers to explain that renewal would not be invited but that they would continue on same plan and same benefits etc (without being tied to 12 months)?

Sadly, it does seem so, Chris, but, hey, it's yet another new day, so maybe I should be optimistic and think, yes, he will get back with a reply...........

Send him an email. He was posting in another thread the other day and said for the person to email him through the link in his profile.
