A plumbing question

OK all you nice plumbers out there I need a little bit of your knowldge.

Me and my GF bought a flat the other day:j and we have been painting and all that sort of stuff to it today. We just went back tonight and it the bathroom the water in the toilet bowle has almost gone. There is a little bit left but not a lot.

It is a first floor flat and everything seems to be in good working order. Is this anything to worry about or is there a simple answer that we dont know about?

Also does anyone know a good plumber and electrician around the Norwich area? We would like to have a shower put in and I am thinking about getting thermostatic taps with a shower mixer but I would like to get someone in to say if it is a good idea or not. Also we have one leaky raidator when it is switched on. We need a centre light put into the bathroom and need someone to take and look and tell us the best way to do it.

If anyone does know of a good plumber and an electrician can you PM me his/her phone number?

Thanks for any help.

  • Sorry, no practical advice but being as all the (usually super quick!) replies are non forthcoming at the mo, why not post it on https://www.diynot.com as they have plumbing forums on there too which are usually very helpful. Plus forums on tons of other DIY related things.

Nowhere near as good as MSE though of course ;)
  • Most probably the water is being pulled out by the slight suction caused by the toilets being flushed in the other flats, it should only be a problem to you if enough water is pulled out of the trap to break the water seal which would lead to smells coming back in to the room.
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes.
