Comments

  • Nobody is responsible if it was not missold.

You could refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service but why do you think it was missold and why do Barclays think it was not?

Barclays carry the liability for the sale of the product but unless you were still an account holder at the time Barclays took over, then there will almost certainly be no documentation held by them. So, unless you have something which shows the PPI was mis-sold, they can reject on it on the basis of no evidence.

Barclaycard have been accepting liability for Goldfish PPI and default charges (this is from an FOS adjudicator) since they took over. They will pay over 6 years only if you have proof of charges or PPI, such as statements.

Originally the card was issued by HFC and when they sold it ALL liability was sold with it, nothing was kept. This is why the current owner Barclaycard is liable for all claims. You can get this in writing from HFC if you were to contact them for the Goldfish card.
