My Wireless Wont Let Me Go Wireless

Options
Sorry

I'm trying to set up a wireless home gateway WAG3546

I've been through the set up and the internet is working when the network cable (supplied with the pack) is plugged in between the router and the laptop but when I unplug it I lose the network connection.

Can anybody please tell me what I did wrong?

My laptop is wireless enabled so I dont think thats a problem

Thanks

Can your laptop find the wireless network, could be a stupid question :)

Not a stoopid question - if I unplug the cable it all goes away and I dont have a wireless network :o

Also with the cable in so I can get on the internet I tried to go to 192.168.1.1 but it wont accept the user name and password in my destructions - admin/admin or from the post above

  • WAG354G?

    default username is admin
    default password is admin

    both lowercase

So either you have numlock/capslock or or it has changed somehow.

    I dont have those icons.

In terms of turning it on my user guide tells me to "press to enable/disable the wireless function. Indicates the status of wireless LAN communication (optional)." When I press this button I get "No device" flashing up on my screen.

Have you tried the Wireless Network Setup Wizard in control panel?

    Oi southernscouser, be nice :(

The scousers always mean to me

I've run the wizard and it wants me to stick a flash drive in a wireless access point

Dont have one of those in my router - is this the bit I am missing  (I have the flash drive)
