hi i have just found a statement from my credit card dated 2007 i was just read it and its got on there i was paying payment protection now can i claim that !! but the account is closed i didt ask for that

You can still complain. However, on a closed account you may find data is limited and that could work against you. You wont know unless you complain though. However, you will need something stronger than you didnt ask for it.
if you didnt ask for it then why didnt you complain back in 2007 or when it first started from your account?
You have 6 years from the point of sale and 3 years from being reasonably aware that you could complain. With the account closed in 2007, you are now 5 years from your last statement. They could decide to apply the 3/6 year rule. I dont think they will at this stage but it would make an interesting discussion.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). hi come to think about it i didt really look at statement only to see how much i had to pay i was just going thougth some paper work and i found an statement0

Try sending the lender a SAR request it only will cost you £10, you could end up with a large envelope of copy statements. I have tried this with 2 lenders, earlier than your date. I have 2 nice large envelopes of statements that arrived through the post in the last week.
