Easiest way to drill?

I agree with Keystone above about the possible fallout of this.
You must use the correct fixings for the screen. If you go to you DIY store they should have a selection of fixings (Rawlbolt type) for various wall types and loads. The box your TV came in should give you an idea of the TV's weight and go from there, err on the high side if in doubt.
Be careful with the drilling as it is easy to accidentally widen the hole. So always start smaller and regularly check whether the fixings fit in the holes. If you make the holes too big it might stop the fixing working properlt.
Test the bracket well by pulling on it before you fit the TV, any movement at all redrill all of the holes a few cm away.0 -
Just drill with a 10mm masonry bit - no pilot holes - select the hammer option on your drill and firmly press the drill in a straight line. This type of plug usually grips very securely
Unless you hit a wall tie or other metal obstruction it is very unlikely that your drill bit will wander. If it does don't reach for the matchsticks ; this is a daft way of trying to resolve the problem. There are anchor resins available to recover this situation , such asForgotten but not gone.0 -
Ye gods - threads been going on for more than 4 days and its still being faffed with, he's talking about poundland bits for starters and now you are proposing he uses a chemical anchor!!
He needs to GALMI. One who has the correct tools and the knowledge to stop "n" hundred pounds worth of fancy TV lying in bits all over the floor. An hours work max. End of. Sorted.

Sorry , didn't know that you had introduced a 4 day rule on MSE threads.
There's a degree of irony in your last response.Forgotten but not gone.0 -
