Land Registry Guidance

Forgive me if I have put this in the wrong place, but my PIL have recently had need to register their land due to difficult neighbours. However, when the details have come back, there is some confusion over a right of way through their land. The registry details show their land being divided by the right of way, with the right of way not being owned by them. The land has been in the family for approx 150 years and maintained as part of their land throughout.
My question is how can they approach this with the registry, as on the original deeds the right of way divides their land but on subsequent deed changes it is included within their plot. Would this not then suggest that they own the land.

phone the land registry - and talk to one of their staff - they are incredibly helpful to the public0

The reason I am asking on here is that I have found the opposite to be the case. My PIL have tried to register their land for the last six months and have had all kinds of problems, as the land registry seem to struggle registering land for existing home owners.
and it is because of the way they have dealt with my parents that I seek advise elsewhere, they have shown on my parents details a right of way not belonging to my PIL even though it dissects their land, I always thought that in order for land to have a right of way it has to be owned even common land.
Am I wrong?I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
try another office for advice, there are several throughout the country0
