Ring them up and try again, escalate to a supervisor if you have to; you may have got a newbie on the phone that couldn't work the system. I find it quite unlikely that they have got the name completely wrong without any explanation.Thinking critically since 1996....0

I've spoke to 3 different people now and a supervisor and all refuse to help me as I'm not the name on the account! They have confirmed that my current address and d.o.b are correct though so they are looking at the correct account0 -
As others have asked, what name is on your copy of the agreement, what name is on the welcome letter you received ?0

Can the dealer that supplied the car not help with this?
Sounds like it could be their !!!! up.....0 -
Tell them then that since your name is not on the agreement that you will cancel the direct debit.
Also mention that the car is in your name so how do they intend making you pay for it if they don't have your name?0 -

What ridiculous advice - the car belongs to the finance company regardless of who's name is on the agreement.0 -

But how can they prove it, if they have one name and the car is registered in another name?0 -

Because they will have the reg number on the loan documents, and all that will happen is they will reposes the car.
OP you need to pull out your credit agreement and find out what name is on that, and get back in touch with the dealer that sold you the car.0 -
As I already mentioned, stopping paying would be the worse thing you can do so ignore any "advice" which advocates doing this.
It could be as simple as a computer / admin error at their end, it does not mean that you can stop paying for the car. If the paperwork is in your name then you need to send the company a copy and get them to deal with it properly (easier said than done!). Personally, I would put in an official complaint given you have spoken to them 3 times.Thinking critically since 1996....0
