Car finance-company states my name is not on the agreement

I rang my car finance company to change my address and they stated that they have a different name on the credit agreement. They refused to deal with me and wouldn't give me any answers or advice on what I should do. I have checked my credit file on experian and there is no record of the finance that was taken out in Nov 2010. Is this agreement valid? Im not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be appreciated.

Logically, could it be under anyone elses name at that address etc?

No it couldn't be any one else's name. I'm not bothered about paying for it but at the end of the agreement what proof do I have that it's my car if I can't get a settlement letter and so on. Also I am unable to update my address with them so won't be receiving any correspondence from them...

No they won't tell me whose name is on it but they said its completely different

Should be able to send them your copy of the agreement to prove its in your name.
And then get them to update your address.

Exactly! I bet if I cancelled the direct debit they would soon have my name on there correctly
