Thanks Martyn however i want to emulsion not paper.
I guess i will have to put up lining paper then but was just trying to avoid that.
Cheers and back to it!0 -
Gazza, you can avoid lining if you have a little patience after the stripping.
You say some of the paint underneath has gone bitty due to the stripper, that does happen, but can be sorted.
Rub down your patches, specially the jagged edges from the bits that have come off with the stripper.
Then get some powder filler, and fill over these patches, just enough filler so that it covers and not too thick for you to labour rubbing it off.
Sand these filled bits gently, and then run your hand along it, and if you cant feel any jagged bits then you know its filled and you wont have to fill again, if still a bit jagged then fill again, but very lightly.
After your happy with it, and before you start rolling, dilute your paint, and BRUSH on theses filled bits, do it a couple of times, then when dry roll as normal.
I would slightly thin down your first coat anyway, and even your second coat, specially if your using quality paint, you will get a far better finish than painting it straight from the tin.:D0 -
I still think that Anaglypta looks warmer and is less fuss than bare emulsion, but it's a personal choice.0
